SG-1 huddled in amongst a crumbling set of stone ruins set at the edge of a clearing in the forest. Cameron crouched in a ditch a few feet away from the group, huddled down into the ground with his cap pulled low over his eyes to deflect the wind and water. Vala, Sam and Daniel had taken refuge against one of the low crumbling walls of the ruins; Teal'c sat stoically with his back against a nearby tree, the rain seemingly did not bother him.
Vala pulled her hat down over her eyes in a vain attempt to deflect the torrential rain out of her face. She failed miserably, managing only to create a torrent of water running down the back of her hat. She pulled her collar up around her neck and huddled into the wall further.
"Have I mentioned I hate the rain?" Vala grumbled and folded her arms across her chest.
"Yes, repeatedly." Daniel rolled his eyes and pulled his own cap down. Crouching low to the ground he left the cover of the ruins and made his way over to Teal'c's position under a nearby tree.
Vala wrinkled her brow "I was just saying. I hate the rain."
Sam, sitting beside her, remained silent. A second passed, followed by another. Vala tapped her fingers on the side of her P-90 before turning towards Sam.
"Vala!" Sam turned and stared at the other woman, her voice filled with frustration "We have to wait here until the cargo ship arrives. This is the best place for us to remain undercover until it arrives. There's nothing we can do about the rain."
"Fine, but I'm bored. Can't we at least play a game, or something?" Vala pouted.
Sam rolled her eyes. It was going to be a very long mission.
"A game?" Despite knowing better, Sam took the bait.
"Like those truth or dare games that people are always playing in the movies!"
Sam blinked, who the hell was letting Vala watch movies that involved truth or dare?
“You know what; I think that’s probably a bad idea.” Sam closed her eyes for a second and listened to the rain falling around her.
"Welcome back, SG-1" General Landry greeted them from the control room.
"Thank you, sir." Cameron pulled off his hat and ran his hands through his damp hair. "Permission to get cleaned up before debrief?"
"Permission granted, Colonel. Debrief in one hour."
Vala jogged down the gate ramp past the rest of the team. She handed over her P-90 to the nearest airman and headed for the doorway.
"Ladies first!" she called back as she ran towards the shower room.
"Hey!" Daniel and Cameron chorused in unison.
Sam shrugged, "Works for me!" she grinned and handed over her own weapons to the airman beside her.
Sam leaned back in the shower, leaning her face into the spray. After hours sitting outside in rain storms, that Sam was sure contained a large percentage of ice pellets, the heat of the water was a welcome relief.
"Strangest place you’ve had sex!" Vala yelled from the neighbouring stall.
"What?" Sam raked her fingers through her hair and leaned towards the curtain, trying to hear Vala's words over the rush of water around her.
"I said, where's the strangest place you've had sex?" Vala repeated.
"Vala!" Sam laughed to herself and ducked her head under the water once more.
"I'm serious. I want to know!"
"Why?" Sam closed her eyes.
"Because," there was a rush of cold air against Sam's skin making her jump; her eyes flew open to find Vala stepping through a gap in the shower curtain. "I want to know your secrets, Samantha."
Sam grinned and wrapped her arms around Vala, pressing her against the shower wall; the cold tile on her back making Vala hiss in shock.
"There's time for that later." Sam grinned as she leaned in to kiss Vala.
